Sheriff’s Department & Freeholder’s Office sponsor senior expo on May 30

A multitude of services, prizes, and valuable information will be available to older Burlington County residents who attend the Annual Senior Citizen Expo, sponsored by the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department and the Board of Chosen Freeholders.

The Expo will be held on Friday, May 30 at the Masonic Home’s Fellowship Center, 1114 Oxmead Road, Burlington Township. Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“The objective is to provide seniors with a clearinghouse of information on services available through both government and private non-profit organizations,” said Sheriff Jean E. Stanfield. “We will be bringing together more than four dozen agencies and organizations whose representatives can field and answer questions or every topic from social security and taxes to health care and recreational opportunities.”

Free medical screenings, a raffle and door prizes, document shredding truck, a free lunch, and free tote bags to the first 500 attendees, will also be offered.

Burlington County Freeholder Director Joe Donnelly, said the expo also is an opportunity for seniors to familiarize themselves with the services offered through the Office of Aging, including nutrition programs and legal services.

“We are encouraging residents to attend, and take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about what Burlington County has to offer them,” said Donnelly.

Those seeking more information can contact the Sheriff’s Department at (609) 265–3788.
