Local lacrosse playing brothers selected to national all-star teams

Shamong residents Ian and Kevin Gray were both recently selected to the Brine Lacrosse Middle and High School National All Star and All American teams.

Ian Gray, a seventh grader at Indian Mills Memorial School, has been named as a 2013 Brine National All-Star and selected to represent the New Jersey Middle School Team at the 2013 Brine National All-Star Lacrosse Academy to be held in Maryland June 30-July 3. Ian also presently plays lacrosse for IMMS and Seneca U13A Boy’s Lacrosse Teams, as well as summer lacrosse for the Southshore (NJ) and Dukes (PA) Lacrosse Clubs. He was all recently selected to play on the U13 Boy’s NJ South Lacrosse All Star Team (South Jersey) which will participate in the US Lacrosse Southeast Regional Championship in Raleigh, NC June 7–9.

Kevin Gray, a sophomore at Seneca High School, has been named a 2013 Brine High School All American and will play at the Brine National Lacrosse Classic in Maryland this Summer. The Brine National Lacrosse Classic brings the top 400 high school underclassmen lacrosse players in the country to one venue, where more than 16 regional teams will compete to become the 2013 national champion and qualify to compete for an international championship later in the year. Kevin presently plays on the Seneca High School varsity lacrosse team and plays summer lacrosse for the Braveheart Lacrosse Club.

Both Kevin and Ian were selected following various tryouts and evaluations attended by more than 100 of the best middle and high school lacrosse players from all over the state of New Jersey as well as Pennsylvania and Delaware.
