County update:

Law enforcement officials are investigating threats that were made to a group of Burlington County College employees who work at the physical education center at the school’s Pemberton Township campus.

The threats, which were non-specific in nature, were sent to the personal cell phones of some physical education center employees yesterday afternoon.

The college closed the physical education building today. Operations for the rest of the campus were not affected and are proceeding as usual.

The college has increased public safety patrols at the campus and a request was made to local law enforcement jurisdictions to patrol the campus.

The investigation is being conducted by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office, the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department, the Pemberton Township Police Department and the Burlington County College Public Safety Department.

No further information will be released at this time.
