Become a host family for a student from Spain June 30 to July 20.
Your Spanish exchange student is visiting our area in a cultural exchange, to learn about the lives of American teens and to improve their English language skills.
Organizers are looking for families to open their hearts and their homes to these students who bring so much more to the experience than they ask for.
If you have a spare bed and a desire for an international experience right in your own home, contact organizers at [email protected].
It is a great way to learn more about hosting without a huge time commitment.
During the days they are here, the students are participating in an organized program that consists of academic lessons and full-day excursions each week.
You and your family are also welcome to join us during the full-day excursions — to Philadelphia, New York City and Valley Forge/Plymouth Meeting Mall.
The students are between the ages of 14 and 17 years old.
The students are here to accomplish two goals: to improve their English speaking skills through time spent with the host families and through their academic program and to immerse themselves into their American host family and learn about our culture.
The host families are required to provide students with their own bed. The student can share a room with a child of the same sex, if necessary, as long as he/she has her own bed and some space of their own. They would be eating breakfast and dinner with the host family and they would be with you on the weekends free to do whatever the family would like. Sightseeing is not necessary, but up to the host family.
Host families can carpool to and from daily classes, activities and excursions. Compass USA will work together to arrange transportation needs for our families.
Interested families in need of more information should contact Compass USA, Youth Program Coordinator Amy Rominiecki at [email protected].
