Camden County College has planned an information sessions regarding its certified nurse aide certificate, a valuable credential for anyone interested in entering the nursing profession.
It is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. May 1 on the Blackwood Campus at College Drive and Peter Cheeseman Road in Gloucester Township.
CNA is the first rung on the nursing career ladder, and CCC’s program prepares students to sit for the CNA-certification exam with the state Department of Health and Senior Services. CNAs work under the supervision of practical nurses or registered nurses to assist patients in settings such as long-term-care facilities, homes and hospitals.
College-level credits earned through completion of the CNA certificate may be applied to CCC’s multi-skilled technician or PN certificate programs, both of which are subsequent rungs on the nursing career ladder and include credits applicable to other programs. These other programs include the College’s associate degree studies in nursing.
CCC also offers, through partnerships with four-year institutions of higher education, bachelor’s degree programs with a nursing major.
