LETTER: Spring is a ‘glorious time,’ writer says

Let us wander through the lens of our new springtime eyes. What a glorious time it is.

See the daffodils painting the new growth grown with their sunshine yellow. Hear the awakening sound of the birds, greeting and singing their springtime songs.

Oh winter tries, evens lets loose a frenzied last snowfall, but spring it comes nonetheless. Nothing can hold it back.

That snow can’t even stand for a day on the ground. The plants all know that the ground is warming as they begin to send their shoots upward.

The trees press their buds to fullness, so close to shining their springtime flower festival.

This is our springtime, too, as we also begin to awaken from wintertime sleeping. Even the word “spring” evokes the verb “spring.”

And don’t we feel a bit of spring in our step this time of year?

So let yourself celebrate your inner springiness. Let it spring forth. Let it shine like the forsythia, the tulips and the cherry blossom trees.

Feel this abundance within you. It’s a time of renewal, like the perennials, which after being asleep and dormant for many months, come back, awake and arise.

It is also a time for new beginnings, like the freshly tilled gardens, prepared and awaiting our choice seeds to become new inspirations for the summer.

So please remember today’s spring, and to make just a little bit of time to gaze outside, to smell the air, to look around at the plants, and trees and the springtime aura of people.

Let spring time in to you today, because she is already here, and she’s a beauty.
