The skies are getting bluer, the temperature is getting warmer, and the days have become longer. Spring is in the air, and it is the perfect time of year to enjoy everything Cherry Hill has to offer.
From now until Memorial Day, there are dozens of events and activities planned for residents of all ages and interests throughout the community, including our two-week-long Art Blooms celebration, the April 27 Earth Festival (more on that event in two weeks) and lunches and musical performances for seniors.
There truly is something for everyone — and, thanks to the support of our community partners and sponsors, attendance for each event is either low-cost or free. This year’s spring highlights include:
Art Blooms: “Meet the Artists” Opening Reception
6 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Croft Farm Arts Center
The Croft Farm art gallery will be open for the opening Art Blooms event. Visitors can enjoy original two-dimensional works in watercolor, pastels, oils and other mediums, all of which will be available for sale. Artists will be on hand to mingle with guests and discuss their work. Artist awards will be given and light refreshments will be served. The gallery will remain open for the duration of Art Blooms, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 27 and from 1 to 7 p.m. April 29-May 2 and May 6 to 9. Art Blooms: Eco-Friendly Fashion Show:
7 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at the Croft Farm Arts Center
This brand-new event, which supports Sustainable Cherry Hill, features “new-to-you” accessories and other environmentally friendly pieces from local retailers to demonstrate how you can look like a fashionista while embracing a more sustainable lifestyle. There will be something for everyone, so please check it out! This event is free; light refreshments will be served, and door prizes will be awarded. There will also be refreshments and door prizes. Cherry Hill: Looking Below the Surface:

Evidence of the past is all around us, from old place names, street names, churches, houses and cemeteries. But what lies beneath? Archaeology gives us stories to tell about Native Americans who lived in this area for thousands of years as well as the lives of farmers and others who lived here before suburban development. Dr. Ilene Grossman-Bailey, a Cherry Hill native (CHHSW class of ’75), professional archeologist and president of the Archeologist Society of New Jersey, will present an overview on Cherry Hill archaeology and archaeological sites.

Archaeological Society of New Jersey May Meeting:
11 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Croft Farm Kay Evans Farmhouse
Cherry Hill Township is pleased to welcome the Archaeological Society of New Jersey as it hosts its May meeting at one of our local historical properties, Croft Farm. In addition to a board meeting and lunch, attendees will be treated to four presentations, including: The Cherry Hill Site (28Ca2): A prehistoric window on early Camden County New Jersey; Results of Archaeology at the Madeira I Site; The Mystery of the Woodbury Creek Wreck; and Archaeology at the Kay Evans Farm.
