The following report was released by the Cherry Hill Police Department.
On March 23 at 2 p.m., the Cherry Hill Police responded to the report of a stabbing at 300 Monroe Ave., Apartment B. Allegedly, an argument that had occurred between the husband, a 43-year-old man, and wife had turned physical. At this point the wife’s son, a 20-year-old of Burlington, intervened to break up the altercation.
This led to a physical altercation between the husband and the wife’s son. During this second altercation the wife’s son’s friend, a 19-year-old of Burlington, intervened which led to all three men fighting.
After a few minutes the fighting ended and all three participants separated to calm down. After a time the husband went to the bathroom and retrieved a pair of scissors. He then confronted the 19-year-old in the kitchen and stabbed him in the chest with the scissors. The victim ran from the dwelling and was met by Cherry Hill police officers who had just arrived at scene. The victim was transported to the Cooper hospital in Camden. The wife’s son was also treated for a hand injury at JFK hospital Cherry Hill.
The husband was taken into custody without incident and transported to police headquarters for processing and was subsequently remanded to the Camden County Jail in lieu of bail.
He was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of a weapon, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and criminal attempted homicide.
