Voorhees Township Public Schools holding kindergarten registration

The Voorhees Township Public Schools will hold kindergarten registration for the 2013–2014 school year beginning March 7. Any child who will turn five years of age on or before Oct. 1, is eligible for kindergarten admission in September. First grade registration will also take place for children coming from private kindergartens for September. Please note specific dates and times.

Registration for September kindergarten will be held on the following days at the district’s four elementary schools; E. T. Hamilton, Kresson, Osage and Signal Hill: March 7 for last names beginning with letters A-L (Kindergarten Only), March 14 for last names beginning with letters M to Z (kindergarten only), and March 21 for make-up registration and first grade registration

Each registration will run from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. If these times conflict with parents’ schedules, they should contact the school to make other arrangements. Registration packets may be picked up in the school offices prior to registering.

At registration, the parent or guardian must present the child’s birth certificate, immunization record and three proofs of Voorhees residence. Types of documents eligible for use to verify your residency are available on the district website.

All Day Child Care Program for Kindergarten Students for September.
Voorhees CER Kindergarten (K-CER)
K-CER is a program designed to provide developmentally appropriate activities in a safe, secure environment within your child’s elementary school. Our K-CER staff will reinforce and enrich the Voorhees Township kindergarten curriculum to facilitate the development of your child’s academic, physical and social skills. K-CER staff will collaborate with your child’s kindergarten teacher to cooperatively provide the best education and care for your child. For your convenience K-CER will be located at all four elementary schools.

The morning session is from 9 am to 12:50 pm, and the afternoon session is 11:35 am to 3:25 pm. Both sessions will be together for lunch and recess 11:50–12:50.

The fee is $400.00 per month plus (non-refundable) $100.00 registration fee. Those interested can register before May 1 and receive 50 percent off the registration fee.

Early registration is recommended (a minimum requirement of eight students per session and maximum 25 students per session.)

Before and After Care is from 7 to 9 a.m. and 3:30 to 6 p.m. will be available at a discounted rate $2.25/hr
