I wish to relate a recent incident I witnessed at a bank on Main Street on Dec. 26. While waiting in line, two respectable-appearing men became impatient and starting arguing with the assistant branch manager. I was in the middle of a transaction, and offered to let one of them go ahead of me. He then got into an argument with the teller, over his need to produce identification, at which point he used foul language with her. I confronted him over this. He offered no apology to her.
Such behavior would not necessarily surprise me (sadly) in a big city or in other parts of the country, but here in Moorestown? I don’t know if these two men were our neighbors or not. Either way, I find such behavior to be reprehensible. I would encourage people to practice civility in all venues and with all people they encounter. Furthermore, I would encourage my neighbors to confront such ridiculous behavior, whenever they see it. Standing by idly will only reinforce crude manners.
