Camden man arrested in Mt. Laurel for fire on ex-girlfriend’s porch

The following incidents were taken from reports on file with the Mt. Laurel Police Department.

Mt. Laurel Police took custody of a 26-year-old man of Camden on Dec. 7. He was wanted for starting a fire on the porch of his former girlfriend’s condominium on Yarmouth Lane during the early morning hours of Nov. 23. He was arrested by the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force at an unknown location in Camden. He was charged with aggravated arson, causing the risk of widespread injury, criminal mischief and stalking. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail in default of $73,500 bail.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 45-year-old man of Queen Street, Philadelphia, on Dec. 7 for passing a fraudulent prescription blank at the Wegman’s Pharmacy on Centerton Road. He was charged with obtaining a controlled dangerous substance by fraud and released pending a municipal court hearing.

A resident of the 5400 block of Aberdeen Drive reported a burglary and theft to a residence. The incident occurred on Dec. 7, between 9:15 a.m. and 6:50 p.m. Jewelry and coins, valued at over $7,000, were taken. It is unknown how entry was gained to the residence.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 44-year-old man of the unit block of West Monroe Street, Mount Holly, on Dec. 8 at 8 a.m. Police responded to the parking lot behind the vacant Bennigan’s Restaurant on Route 73 for the report of a suspicious man riding an ATV. He attempted to flee the area however he crashed the ATV and was taken into custody. It was determined that the ATV was stolen. He was charged with obstruction, resisting arrest, and receiving stolen property. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $30,000.

An employee of Taylor Wiseman & Taylor on Gaither Drive reported a burglary and theft to the business. The incident occurred on Dec. 8 at 6 a.m. Entry was gained by cutting the locks to a fenced off portion of the property. Three ATV’s and a trailer, valued at over $40,000, were taken. Damage is estimated at $60.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile from Mount Holly on Dec. 8 at 1:45 p.m. Police were dispatched to the area of Narberth Drive for suspected drug activity. Upon police arrival the juvenile attempted to flee from police but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. He was charged with possession of marijuana and obstruction. He was released to his mother pending a court hearing.

A resident of the unit block of Falmouth Drive reported a burglary and theft to a residence. The incident occurred on Dec. 8, between 6:30 and 7:05 p.m. It is unknown how entry to the residence was gained. Jewelry, valued at an undetermined amount, was taken.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 64-year-old man of the 1600 block of Augusta Circle, on Dec. 8 at 9:15 p.m. He was arrested during the investigation of a motor vehicle collision on South Church Street. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 29-year-old woman of the 200 block of Bower Street, Linden, on Dec. 9. She was arrested after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Route 73 at 12:25 a.m. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 29-year-old woman of the 5900 block of Wexford Brook, San Antonio, Texas, on Dec. 9. She was arrested after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Route 38 at 1:26 a.m. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a municipal court hearing.

A township resident reported the theft of an iPhone from the Funplex on Route 38. The incident occurred on Dec. 9, between 2 and 2:15 p.m. The phone is valued at $400.

A resident of the 300 block of Val Drive reported a burglary and theft to a residence. The incident occurred on Dec. 10, between 2 and 8 p.m. There was no sign of forced entry. $2,000 in cash was taken.
