Mayor’s column: grand opening of Virtua Health and Wellness Center

On Nov. 10, I was honored to be part of the grand opening of Virtua Health and Wellness Center at the Virtua Voorhees Medical Facility on Route 73. This is the latest addition to Virtua’s state-of-the-art medical campus. The facility brings more jobs to our community and adds to the economic stimulus the Virtua project has brought to Voorhees.

The 300,000 square foot center is adjacent to the main hospital and focuses on wellness and prevention. It comports with Virtua’s motto of “Be Well. Get Well. Stay Well.”

The center includes a pediatric specialty center featuring Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) at Virtua, offering world-class pediatric care in our own backyard.

Also included is the Virtua Joint Replacement Institute, which offers same day total knee replacement, as well as Summit Surgical Center, a Fox Chase Cancer program, a diagnostic sleep lab, the Virtua Center for Women, outpatient laboratory testing, pre-admission testing, the Virtua Breast Specialty Care Facility, the Virtua Female pelvic medicine office and an on-site pharmacy.

The center also includes Virtua cardiology, advanced ENT, Boston brace, comprehensive cancer and hematology, a pediatric retail store and imaging services for both adults and children.

This is the second of three Virtua Health and Wellness Centers, the others being in Washington Township and Moorestown.
