Commission marks Veteran’s Day with community conversation

Haddonfield’s Human Relations Commission will mark Veteran’s Day with the community conversation, “Supporting Our Military Families: How Can We Help?” on Thursday, Nov. 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Borough Hall auditorium.

As we honor all military veterans on Veteran’s Day, the Haddonfield Human Relations Commission is hosting this forum to raise awareness of the effects that military service can have on members of the armed forces and their families.

Both during and after their service, many veterans and their families struggle with social, emotional, mental, and financial issues.

This event is intended to educate citizens on these challenges and discuss ways in which they can help.

The Haddonfield Human Relations Commission members, Judi Laskodi, certified private therapist/counselor, Brandon Gery, outreach case worker for Catholic Charities, community support organizations, military veterans and their families, as well as interested citizens will be in attendance.

Support groups and veterans of current and past conflicts will also offer their perspective on this subject.

Refreshments and light snacks will be served.
