Details: The Freeholder Board’s Office of Veterans Affairs is going on the road to bring services directly to Camden County Veterans and their families. As the holidays approach the Freeholders want to ensure that our 30,000 regional veterans have access to services and an opportunity to file for a photo identification card. This identification card will qualify veterans for discounts and benefits in restaurants and other area businesses.

To obtain the free cards, veterans must file their Military Discharge Record (the DD-214 form) with the Office of Veteran Affairs. Then, they must provide a certified copy of the discharge record, proof of identity and proof of Camden County residency.

“Throughout the year, the Camden County Office of Veterans Affairs is partnering with other private and public organizations for special outreach events across Camden County,” said Freeholder Ed McDonnell. “The next is taking place on Oct. 20, at the Cherry Hill Mall.”

Attendees will have access to information on VA program eligibility, education benefits, VA home loans, veterans disability issues, VA pensions, medical benefits, burial benefits, GI life insurance, post traumatic stress disorder, agent orange referral, funeral Honor Guards, nursing home applications, discharge upgrades, military awards, and much more.

“Our Camden County Veterans Affairs Office has been recognized for the outstanding work they do for our military men and women,” said Freeholder McDonnell. “This outreach event will provide greater access to these beneficial programs by bringing our Veterans Affairs staff to the Veterans that they serve.”
