Book sale at M.Allan Vogelson Library

The M. Allan Vogelson Library will stage one of the largest used-book sales in southern New Jersey from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11, and Friday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13.

The library plans to offer over 50,000 books, CDs, videos, books-on-tape, LPs and magazines for sale at drastically reduced prices.

“We make a great effort to provide quality items for our sale customers. We sort through thousands of donations removing poor-condition and outdated items. Buyers will find a very large selection of better-condition material, this year, mixed in with older, vintage and collectible items” M. Allan Vogelson Regional Branch Library manager William Brahms said.

Patrons, collectors and estates donate over 90 percent of the items on sale.

“With ninety-nine percent of the items priced at two dollars or under, and with nothing over three dollars, the sale will attract hundreds of bargain seekers over the course of three days as it’s done in the past,” Brahms said.

The display tables on the first floor will be continually replenished with stock from a large storage room full of materials during the three-day sale.

For easy location, subject will organize items, which is important given the large number of items that will be put out. However, neither previews nor presales will be available to dealers or others.

The library is located on 203 Laurel Road across from the Voorhees Town Center.

All proceeds from the sale will support programs for customers of the Camden County Library System. The library welcomes volunteers to help staff the book sale. Those interested in volunteering can contact Karen Popelak at (856) 772–1636 ext. 7339 or at kpopel@camdencountylibrary.org.
