Delaney is a ‘dominant force’ for soccer team

Released by the Cherry Hill School District

At 5’9”, Cherry Hill High School East’s Caitlin Delaney is a dominant force on the soccer field. Delaney’s speed, size and strength will be relied upon by East to contend in the ultra competitive Olympic American Division, where she was selected as First Team All Conference as a junior.

This will be Delaney’s fourth year as a varsity starter for the Cougars and second season playing for head coach Katie Boyle. She has been a standout performer for East since freshman year and has gained the respect of the N.J. high school soccer community earning All State and South Top 20 honors last season.

Known for her athleticism and scoring ability, one of Delaney’s true strengths is defense. She plays flat out aggressive for 90 minutes. The speed she generates from that long stride enables her to chase down opponents. It’s like she has an “extra gear” that kicks-in, but what she does best is helping those around her stand out. Delaney is a quiet leader who casts a big shadow.

So don’t be surprised if big things happen this year for Coach Boyle’s Cougars. They’ll be lead by a real ” Force on the Field,” Caitlin Delaney.
