Unconscious clerk unable to open safe for armed robbers

The following incident was taken from a report on file with the Cherry Hill Police Department.

At 1 a.m. on Aug. 2, the 7/11 Convenience Store located at 7800 Maple Ave., Cherry Hill, was robbed by two men armed with a silver colored long barrel revolver and a silver colored baseball bat or pipe. The suspects entered the store and struck the clerk in the head with a baseball bat/pipe.

The suspects then dragged the clerk to a backroom to open the safe. The victim failed to open the safe, as he passed out from his injuries. The suspects then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled the area in a southwest direction. The store clerk was treated for a head laceration at JFK Hospital in Cherry Hill and released.

The suspects are described as: two black men in their 20s, thin build, wearing ski masks, gloves and dark clothing. They were approximately six feet tall and weighed approximately 200 pounds.

At 2:44 a.m., Aug. 2, an armed robbery occurred in Pennsauken Township at the Wendy’s fast food restaurant on Route 70, where a silver colored long barrel handgun and a silver colored pipe was used. Both suspects were black men.
