Township to spray for mosquitoes

The Burlington County Mosquito Division advises it will be treating the area for adult mosquitoes Tuesday, July 31, weather permitting, between at 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

While the pesticide is harmless to people, it will be applied in a mist form by a truck-mounted sprayer. Residents are encouraged to stay indoors while the treatment occurs.

The areas to be sprayed include: Patty Bowker, Zimmerman Road and Washington Way areas of the Township including Gamain Road and Lillian Street.

The action, taken by the County Mosquito Division, should serve as a reminder to take precautions against mosquitoes by using repellent, wearing long sleeves and long pants, and limiting outdoor activity when mosquitoes are most active, during dawn and dusk.

Also, clean or remove any items on your property that can collect rain or sprinkler water and serve as a breeding ground for mosquitoes, such as clogged gutters, flowerpots, bottle caps or old car tires.

Remember to be alert for the spraying Tuesday night and keep family, pets and children indoors during any application.
