Voorhees native headed for Olympic Gymnastics Trials

Voorhees native Brandon Wynne has much to be proud of.

After all, the Eastern High School grad is one of 15 men vying for a spot on the coveted Olympic Gymnastics Team.

Wynn, 23, will compete at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials at the HP Pavilion at San Jose from June 28 to July 1.

Since graduating from Eastern, Wynn has collected a handful of titles, including 2010 and 2011 U.S. Men’s Gymnastics National Still Rings Champion, 2010 and 2011 NCAA Still Rings Champion and 2012 Winter Cup Still Rings Champion.

The former Ohio State University co-captain has also collected gold and bronze medals in the Pan American Games.

The five men and women who will represent the United States in men’s and women’s gymnastics at the 2012 Olympic Games will be determined at the Trials.

Those making the trek to London will be announced on July 1.
