The Medford Education Foundation hosted a “Kick Off Summer Pool Party and Family BBQ” on Sunday, June 3 at the Flying W Resort on Fostertown Road in Medford. At this event, more than 250 parents, children and educators from the elementary and middle schools in the Medford Township School District came together to enjoy an afternoon of food, fun and sun. Stacy Kasse, a teacher at Taunton Forge Elementary School, Chris Clarke, principal at Allen Elementary School and Peter Bisconte, vice principal at Memorial Middle School each did a turn in the dunk tank to help raise money for the MEF.
The Medford Education Foundation is a non-profit 501 © (3) entity comprised of parents, business owners and educators who work to raise money in support of the Medford Township Schools. During the past seven years, the Medford Education Foundation has raised over $300,000 for the benefit of the public schools and students for things such as mobile laptop laboratories, technology upgrades and the purchase of independent reading books. The Medford Township Public School District serves over 2,500 students in grades K-8.
“This event came together with the support of our teachers, our district families and many local businesses”, said Kristine Adler, chairperson of the event. “The Flying W was a wonderful venue and the staff of the Flying W generously supported both the event and the mission of the MEF, ensuring that the day was a success,” she added. “The MEF is looking forward to sponsoring more events like this, both to raise money to benefit our schools, but also to create community within our school family.”
