Evesham Township and council members will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Thursday, May 24, at 10 a.m. at the Evesham Municipal Building, 984 Tuckerton Road, in the township.
The event will be held at the Veterans Walkway in front of the municipal building.
The program will begin at 10 a.m. with opening remarks from Mayor Randy Brown and an opening prayer from the Rev. Monsignor Rich LaVerghetta.
Carmen Malentino will perform the National Anthem.
The day will honor all those who have served the country through America’s great history. Also, it will dedicate new bricks into the Veterans Walkway, purchased by residents of Burlington County to honor veterans close to their lives.
Dr. and Mrs. John Harding will place a wreath at the memorial. Brown will lead the presentation of the bricks, Malentino will sing “God Bless America,” and Brown will give the closing remarks for the event.
Evesham residents are invited to purchase bricks for $50 each to honor the memory of veterans they know. Each brick contains three lines of text and will be installed into the memorial.
All of the funding that is brought in from the brick sales goes into the upkeep and cleaning of the memorial.
To order a brick, please download the brick application from the Evesham Township website at www.evesham-nj.gov.
The new bricks are introduced to the memorial at the Memorial Day celebration each year.
