According to the Haddonfield Police Department, a male suspect entered the Happy Hippo at 8:58 p.m. on Friday, April 27, with an “air soft” gun — basically a BB gun — that was disguised to look like a real firearm. He entered the store after it had closed and held up an employee for $150 in cash. He fled the scene and no injuries were reported.
However, on Saturday, April 28, Haddonfield Police working in conjunction with other county agencies made an arrest in the case. Carlos Cintron Jr and Jennifer Ciarrocchi, both from Pennsauken, were arrested and confessed to detectives about the robbery.
Carlos Cintron Jr was charged with first degree robbery and second degree possession of a firearm for unlawful purposes. Jennifer Ciarrocchi was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy. Both were remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
