Haddonfield officials to celebrate Tanner Street

The Borough of Haddonfield will celebrate the completion of one of its biggest ongoing municipal projects, the reconstruction of Tanner Street in downtown Haddonfield, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, May 4, at 5 p.m.

Haddonfield commissioners will ceremoniously cut the ribbon, midway on Tanner Street, at 5 p.m., accompanied by Tanner Street business owners.

Some owners will have samplings of their wares displayed curbside.

The ribbon cutting coincides with Haddonfield’s monthly First Friday event taking place from 5 to 9 p.m. on May 4, during which artists and entertainers line the streets downtown and shops and restaurants offer in-store events, promotions and refreshments.

Tanner Street has been undergoing extensive improvements over the last 4 years — the end result is a revitalized, beautified street with ample parking, fresh pavement and visitor friendly access.

Completed reconstruction projects include the replacement of older pipes and sewer infrastructures running along the length of the roadway; improved parking and pedestrian accessibility through the Euclid Avenue and Haddon Avenue intersection; new curb scapes, decorative street lighting and fresh landscapes.
