Road work scheduled in Mt. Laurel

Released by the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders’ Office of Public Information:

The resurfacing of a 0.7-mile stretch of Masonville-Fostertown Road from Ark Road in Mt. Laurel to Route 38 in Hainesport in is scheduled to begin Monday, April 30.

The milling and overlay construction is expected to take two weeks to complete. Traffic will be maintained with one lane alternating. Motorists can expect delays and are encouraged to find alternative routes during construction.

American Asphalt Co., Inc. /Jersey Construction, Inc. — A joint venture of West Collingswood has been contracted to perform the construction as part of the County’s 2011 state funded overlay program.

This is one of 16 roads scheduled to be resurfaced in the program that will overlay a total 23.7 miles of county roads in 16 municipalities at a cost of $7.2 million.

It is expected that 68,000 tons of asphalt will be needed to complete all construction scheduled for the program.

The county highway network includes 508.4 miles of county roads, 364 bridges, 700 culverts, more than 243 traffic control devices and 17,000 signs.
