Lenape High School wins district Wii tournament

Lenape High School recently hosted the LRHSD fourth annual “Wii Tournament.” Participants from Cherokee High School, Lenape High School, Seneca High School, and Shawnee High School all competed in the tournament. A technology grant that was provided in 2009 allowed for the Wii systems to be implemented into the classroom for student use. The students from the adaptive physical education classes have been practicing since September for the tournament.

The tournament is set up as a competition in four events, archery, soccer, bowling, and tennis. Health and P.E. teachers Jody Stansbury and Beth Taubman organized the events.

The annual Pen Pal luncheon was held in conjunction with the tournament. Students from the LRHSD sister schools communicate with each other during the year and meet for an annual luncheon. Students in Kathy Waldron’s Living Skills classes decorated, prepared the food, created table scapes, and served as gracious hosts.
