Medford Township residents approved the referendum to retain trash collection and increase property taxes by $325 for the average taxpayer at last night’s vote.
From the unofficial results, 3,574 residents voted “yes,” and 2,729 voted “no.” There are 17,138 registered voters.
The township is waiting on the results from the absentee ballot, but municipal clerk Kathy Burger said that those votes will not sway the outcome of the vote.
The next township council meeting will be held on Thursday, April 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, 91 Union Street.
