Check out Cherry Hill’s new website

Cherry Hill Township recently unveiled a new municipal website, complete with new features, more information and a more aesthetically pleasing welcome page.

You can still access the site at the same place — www.cherryhill-nj.com.

You can even use your iPhone to interact with the township.

As one of the new features, residents can use the “Report a Concern” feature, which can be found on the left hand side of the welcome page. Here, residents can sign up to report any non-emergency in the township, including potholes, clogged sewers, a down tree or a car parked where it shouldn’t be.

The information will be sent directly to the mayor’s office, and disseminated to the appropriate municipal department.

Want to take it one step further?

You can download the free citizen’s request tracker from Civic Plus on your iPhone. Choose Cherry Hill as the organization and get clicking.

From your phone, you can snap a picture of that treacherous pothole or the kitten trapped in a tree and send the request right there from your phone.

The new feature is just one of many that will improve dialogue between residents and the township, said Mayor Chuck Cahn.

“This new website will serve as our online town hall, providing access to my administration and our township government at any time,” Cahn said. “We designed the site with a focus on providing our residents, visitor and businesses the ability to easily and quickly find the information and answers they are looking for.”

Residents may also pay any police tickets through the website, under the “I want to” section.

Jason Springer, the township’s director of communications, said the township hopes to include the ability to pay water, sewer and tax bills online in the near future, though the town council would first have to approve such a measure.

Under the “Notify Me” feature on the front page, residents can sign up to receive email alerts from the mayor, to available jobs, to bid postings.

Residents may now download and print business, cat/dog and marriage/civil union license requests. Residents now have to physically bring the license into the municipal building, but Springer said he expects residents will soon be able to fill out the form and send the payment online.

The calendar has been updated to include additional township events. Residents also have quick access to contacting any staff member of the township.

The fire and police department can now be accessed through the main site. Click on “Departments” and select fire department or police department for more information and ways to connect with members of the departments.

Under the mayor’s page, you’ll also find Cahn’s public schedule of events.

“Our new website will enable increased transparency and allow for quicker, more efficient access to township information,” Cahn said.

The township will still continue to utilize its Facebook and Twitter pages to provide timely information. You can find those pages online at www.facebook.com/pages/Cherry-Hill-Township/134342599655 or on Twitter @CherryHillTwp.
