Car crash summons Evesham Fire-Rescue

On Saturday, March 17 shortly after 4 p.m., Evesham Fire-Rescue was dispatched to Route 70 in the area of Troth Road for a truck that struck a tree. Engine 2211 and Ambulance 2291 both responded and found a one-vehicle accident with the driver being uninjured. While standing by on location awaiting the vehicle’s removal from the wooded area, responders noticed that a significant amount of motor oil was leaking from the truck’s storage compartment.

Upon further investigation it was discovered that a 55-gallon drum had been overturned and began to leak in the compartment and began to saturate the ground under the vehicle. Crews utilized absorbent material from Rescue 2218 to contain the spill and a request was made to have a representative from Burlington County’s Health Department respond to the scene.
