A busy end of February for the Evesham Fire-Rescue District

The following items can be found on file with the Evesham Township Fire-Rescue District:

• On Friday, Feb. 24, after fire and EMS crews were returning from a gas leak in a residence in the Woodstream section of Evesham Township, they were alerted to a vehicle fire impinging on a house in the Heritage Village section of Evesham Township. Crews arrived to find the engine compartment of a vehicle involved in fire and threatening the dwelling. The fire was extinguished before the fire could spread to the home. No injuries were reported.

In addition to these two calls, there were 23 other fire and EMS calls in the 24-hour period beginning at 7 a.m. that Friday morning.

• On Saturday, Feb. 25, Ladder 2235 and Engine 2212 assisted Medford Township on a working house fire on Jackson Road around 3:30 p.m.

Crews provided manpower and equipment at the fire, which heavily damaged a two-story, single-family home. Later that evening, Ladder 2235 and Engine 2212 were dispatched to assist Voorhees Township on a working house fire on Kresson-Gibbsboro Road. Units arrived to find heavy fire from a home under construction. The fire was wind-driven and numerous small fires were sparked in the woods surrounding the home.

Evesham units provided manpower and equipment.
