On Jan. 20, Medford police received a report of a burglary to a residence on Pontiac Drive. The victim reported that between Dec. 18 at 7 p.m., and Dec. 22 at 10 a.m., someone gained entry to the residence and removed a Dewey Weber surfboard, a Burton snowboard, two paintball guns, a vehicle hardware kit, a guitar case and three gallons of antifreeze. The items were valued at $2,195. A police investigation into this incident is continuing.
On Jan. 23 at approximately 5:13 p.m., Medford police were called to the CVS, located at 524 Stokes Road, for the report of a theft committed by an employee. The subsequent investigation revealed that a pharmacy technician had stolen various quantities of Xanax, Vicodin, Hydrocodone and Suboxone, valued at $27,000, on various dates beginning in September 2011. She then sold the drugs from her residence in Lumberton as well as delivered the drugs to purchasers in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties. The suspect was charged with theft of a controlled dangerous substance and possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. She was released, pending a Burlington County Superior Court hearing.
On Jan. 24, Medford police charged a 20-year-old man with receiving stolen property after learning he sold a ring belonging to his mother at a local jewelry store. He was arrested at his home without incident. He admitted to the theft and provided details regarding an additional ring which had also been sold. The victim was able to recover all the property and the suspect was remanded to Burlington County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.
On Jan. 25 at approximately 9:15 a.m., Medford police conducted a motor-vehicle stop on a red Ford F-150 for a seatbelt violation. During the course of the traffic stop, a passenger in the vehicle was unable to provided identification but provided his biographical information. The passenger identified himself and provided a date of birth and social security number. A subsequent check of the subject revealed an active criminal warrant out of Camden City for $500. The subject was taken into custody for that warrant. While in custody, he advised officers that he had originally provided an alias and he did in fact use the alias when he was originally arrested by Camden City on the above criminal warrant for which he was placed under arrest. A subsequent check of the suspect’s real name revealed an additional criminal warrant out of Camden City for $1,160 and an outstanding traffic warrant out of Waterford Township for $500. The total amount of the bail on all warrants was $2,160. The suspect was transported to police headquarters, charged with hindering and turned over to Camden City for the active warrants where he was later lodged in Camden County Jail in default.
