The National Weather Service and Mount Holly has issued a Winter Weather Advisory. Periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain could cause travel difficulties this evening and overnight.
All 12 Camden County winter maintenance districts will be fully manned tonight. Crews will concentrate on treating roads with brine, to combat the likely threat of blackĀ ice.
āMotorists should be prepared for slippery roads and possible limited visibilities,ā said Freeholder Ian K. Leonard, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works. āEven though county crews will be brining roads in advance of the storm, and working to keep roads passable throughout the night, we still remind motorists to remain cautious and give themselves extra time to reach their destinations.ā
The latest weather forecast obtained by Camden County shows a weak storm system moving into our region bringing with it some snowfall. After todayās highs around 40 degrees, precipitation should start as rain before mixing withĀ snow.
Eventually it will fall as all snow, with expecting accumulation of coating to less than an inch on grassy and colder surfaces. The biggest threat from this storm is likely black ice as temperatures fall to near to below freezing later this evening and throughĀ tonight.
If you see a problem on a county road, please call 566ā2980 to report it. Continue to check www.camdencounty.com through the storm for weather and road condition updates.
