Drug bust in Evesham Township

On Jan. 26, 2012 at 2:40 p.m., An officer from the Evesham Police Department, through an on-going narcotics investigation into the sale of drugs, observed a hand to hand drug transaction in the Nieuw Amsterdam Apartments, 37 N. Maple Avenue, Marlton.

The officer observed the suspect engaging in a narcotic transaction with a female. Police made contact with the buyer, who was found in possession of illegally obtained Oxycodone Pills.

Following the issuance of an arrest warrant for the seller, officers located her at her apartment at which time she was arrested. During a search of her residence additional pills and U.S currency was seized.

The buyer of the drugs of a 25-year-old male suspect from Audubon, N.J. He was charged with third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail on an unrelated $700 warrant.

The seller was a 22-year-old female from Marlton. She was charged with third degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and second degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in a “park” zone. She was released after posting $10,000 with 10 percent bail.
