Several break-ins on Washington Avenue

The following items can be found on file with the Haddonfield Police Department:

• A Washington Avenue resident reported to police on Nov. 29 at 8:43 a.m. that a copper downspout was stolen from his home the night before.

• A Washington Avenue resident reported to police on Nov. 30 at 9:10 p.m. that sometime between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. someone forcibly entered his home and stole several items.

• A Maple Avenue resident reported to police on Dec. 1 at 10:43 a.m. that she left a suitcase on her front steps on Nov. 28. When she realized that she left it out the suitcase had been taken. It contained clothes, jewelry, and shoes.

• A Washington Avenue resident reported to police on Dec. 1 at 2:53 p.m. that a second copper downspout was stolen sometime overnight.

• A Gill Road resident reported to police on Dec. 2 at 7:33 a.m. that her home was broken into overnight. The suspect gained entry into the home through a broken window. Nothing was stolen and the suspect left through the front door, the victim reported.

• A Kings Highway East business owner reported to police on Dec. 2 at 1:20 p.m. that a female suspect shoplifted a white bear from the store’s counter and ran down the street. The suspect was described at being 5’4”, 40-years-old, with dark shoulder length hair. The bear was valued at $42. The suspect could not be located by police.

• A Wynwood Road resident reported to police on Dec. 3 at 1:17 a.m. that he heard some noise coming from his side yard. He observed two male suspects who were trying to steal his copper gutter. When they saw him, they fled the scene, the resident reported. Police could not locate the suspects.

• A Treaty Elms resident reported to police on Dec. 4 at 1:25 p.m. that someone had made pry marks on his mother’s home. The caller owns the house and it was vacant at the time. No entry was gained to the home.

• A Kings Highway West business owner reported to police on Dec. 5 at 12:15 p.m. that two copper downspouts were stolen from a wall of the building.

• A North Hinchman Avenue resident reported to police on Dec. 5 at 1:25 p.m. that her neighbor told her to call the police. The neighboring home had been broken into, with the door kicked open. The master bedroom and den had been ransacked.

• A Wayne Avenue resident reported to police on Dec. 5 at 3:30 p.m. that her vehicle had been keyed overnight. There was a three-foot scratch down the driver side door. No other damage was reported.

• A Kings Highway West resident reported to police on Dec. 6 at 1:04 p.m. that an eight-foot copper downspout was stolen on Dec. 4. The downspout was valued at $300.
