Abby, a cat from Cherry Hill, became the 5,000th neutered by the Camden County Animal Shelter

Abby, a female black cat belonging to Cherry Hill resident Deborah Schetter, left, became the 5,000th cat spayed/neutered at the monthly low-cost clinic sponsored by the Camden County Animal Shelter.

Abby is the fourth cat that Schetter has had neutered/spayed through the county’s monthly “Spay Our Strays” clinics.

The low-cost clinics have been held for the past four years, according to clinic coordinator Adrienne Christatos Timbo, right, who works with a team of area veterinarians and volunteers to organize and run the monthly program. The Camden County Animal Shelter offers low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services for cats — both house pets and free roaming — for $35 at these monthly clinics.

For more information, visit www.ccasnj.org and click on “Spay Our Strays.” Or call 401–1300. The next spay/neuter clinic will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Lindenwold Senior Center. Reservations to have cats neutered/spayed are required.
