Mayor celebrates 50 years for the Cherry Hill Mall

This morning, in honor of the Cherry Hill Mall’s 50th anniversary, Mayor Bernie Platt presented Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) Services, LLC and PREIT-RUBIN Inc. President Joseph Coradino with a proclamation, recognizing the Cherry Hill Mall’s significance to the region.

Platt and Coradino, along with town council members Sara Lipsett and John Amato also held a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the historical display. Mall memorabilia from the 60s and beyond was on display for shoppers to enjoy.

“The Mall became, in many ways, Cherry Hill’s unofficial ‘community center’ — and it is clear, by looking around today, that while some of the merchants and faces may have changed — that this much remains the same,” Platt said. “This is a place where people want to be. This is a place where people come to shop; to dine; to spend time together. This is a destination for the Delaware Valley.”
