Megan Farnsworth and Alexandra Gorman from Moorestown Township and graduates from Moorestown High school have been selected as two of 25 area students in the Greater Philadelphia area to receive a scholarship from Dunkin’ Donuts and its franchisees in the Greater Philadelphia region. Farnsworth plans to attend Villanova University and major in Civil Engineering and Gorman plans to attend University of Pennsylvania and major in Business.

The second annual Dunkin’ Donuts Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program is awarding a total of $25,000 to 25 local students who were selected based on their positive academic record, demonstrated leadership ability and a commitment to their schools and communities. Each student is receives a $1,000 scholarship to pursue a full‑time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two‑year or four‑year college, university or vocational-technical school this fall.

“On behalf of Dunkin’ Donuts and all of the franchisees in the Greater Philadelphia Region, it is my pleasure to announce these 25 students as recipients of the second annual Dunkin’ Donuts Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program,” said Perry Shah, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee and Chairman of the Dunkin’ Donuts Advertising Committee for the Greater Philadelphia market. “We created this program as an extension of our local commitment to this region and to help support the guests and families who run on Dunkin’ every day. We are very proud of these exemplary young men and women and their accomplishments and wish them success as they continue in their academic careers.”

The Dunkin’ Donuts scholarship program is managed by Scholarship America — the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals.

The 2011 recipients were selected by Scholarship America from thousands of applications submitted online. The program was open to high school seniors living in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Kent and New Castle County Delaware who met certain academic and community criteria.
