More West Nile mosquitos

Mosquito traps have turned up three more positive samples of West Nile Virus in Maple Shade, Moorestown and Washington Townships, according to the Burlington County Mosquito Division.

The division plans to treat for adult mosquitoes (weather permitting) in the vicinity of the traps in Moorestown and Washington Township this Thursday, Aug. 18, from 7 to 11 p.m. Once again, residents are encouraged to stay indoors while treatment occurs. Pesticide will be applied in a mist form by truck.

Treatment will take place in the vicinity of the Hess Farm in Moorestown on Lenola Road, and near Mile Marker 16 on County Route 542 (between Turtle Creek Road and River Road) in Washington Township. No treatment is planned for Maple Shade, since the positive sample occurred near the sewerage treatment plant, where spraying recently took place.

The division has now reported a total 15 positive West Nile Samples since the end of July.
