Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice’s 21st Annual Golf Tournament recently welcomed 181 golfers — and the Phillie Phanatic — to Little Mill Country Club for a day of fun and purpose.
The tournament, sponsored by The Richardson Family Dealerships, raised more than $153,000 for the not-for-profit organization, announced Samaritan Director of Development Robin Todd.
“We are so grateful for the outpouring of support for this year’s tournament,” Todd said. “It is this kind of generosity that allows Samaritan to provide grief services, care to uninsured patients, a transitions program and complementary therapies such as massage, music, pet and aroma therapies that offer comfort and relieve pain.”
Samaritan was pleased to have Anthony Gargano, anchor and author for WIP and Fox Sports, serve as honorary chair of the tournament. Gargano has close ties to Samaritan and is happy to serve as an advocate for the organization which provided care for his late mother. Additionally, the tournament was co-chaired once again this year by Roy Fazio of Protocall and Cliff Mancine of Mancine Optical.
“The support of the 87 sponsors and donors, 181 attendees and a record-breaking 62 volunteers this year helps us to continue providing comforting care to patients and families coping with a life-limiting illness,” said Maryann Boccolini, President and CEO of Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice.
