Lightning is no joke

The following items can be found on file with the Haddonfield Police Department:

• Police received reports of a tree on fire at a park across the street from Reillywood Avenue on July 31 at 8:22 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene an officer found a tree to be on fire and the fire department was contacted.

There was no evidence of arson. A lightning strike may have started the fire.

• A father contacted police on July 28 at 2 p.m. to report that his son’s bicycle was stolen from the Elizabeth Haddon Elementary School. The bike was last seen at the school on July 27.

• A Kings Highway East resident reported to police on July 27 that an unknown male knocked on the resident’s front door. The male was found to be intoxicated and had a $35,000 warrant out for his arrest from Burlington.

The suspect was taken back to police headquarters, issued an ROR, and released.
