More than 150 attendees from the real estate industry gathered on July 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Adventure Aquarium on the Camden waterfront for a gathering that the county hopes will become an annual event.

The program was sponsored by TD bank, Boomerang and AMG logistic — all Camden County Businesses who work with new business and existing businesses expanding and moving into the county. During the program, development and real estate opportunities in the county were highlighted by Joe Thomas and Anthony Perno on behalf of the City of Camden.

The keynote speaker was Tracye McDaniel of Choose New Jersey. Choose New Jersey is an independent, privately funded and managed non-profit created to promote New Jersey as a place to invest and do business. Choose New Jersey works to advocate the state’s core strengths — strategic access to local and global financial markets, a highly trained workforce, world-class sea and airports, state-of-the-art energy and communications infrastructure and elite research universities. Choose New Jersey also markets incentive programs to attract and retain companies that are creating jobs and provides policy recommendations to make New Jersey a home for balanced growth. A state level partnership has been formed and is comprised of Choose New Jersey, NJEDA (the state’s bank) and the state Business Action Center.

In addition, a lunch and learn series being held this fall was unveiled by the county economic development director, Sandi Kelly. The upcoming workshops are designed to strengthen the working relationship between the county economic development program and the real estate community in order to further their common goal of attracting and retaining business in the county. The Lunch and Learn workshops will feature a wide variety of speakers from local, county and state government presenting practical information on the many programs available to assist businesses in expanding or looking to locate in the county.
