We are the champions, my friend

Two state championships in two years for the Cardinals? Don’t look now but a dynasty might be on hand for the 12 year-old Marlton Cardinals.

In game one Chris Tracy pitched into the fifth inning and a combination of Christian Shissler and Jarrad DeLarso finished the game. The Cardinals came back from a 3–0 deficit after two innings tying up in their home half of the second .

With the game tied at 4–4 after four innings, GVAA took a 7–4 lead in their half of the fifth inning only to see Marlton come back with a triple by Hunter Hoagland to knock in Dylan Juengert to tie the game 7–7. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Jarrad DeLarso hit a walk-off solo home run to win the game 8–7 for the Cardinals.

In game two, the Cardinals were led by strong pitching performances by Jared DeLarso and Chris Tracy. The Cardinals took a 1–0 lead into the fourth inning, but GVAA tied the game at 1–1 in the top of the fifth. The Cardinals came back with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4–1 lead, with Raymond Dolan starting the inning off with a double off the top of the fence. Matt Kotowski capped off the three run inning by hitting a two run double knocking in the go ahead runs. DeLarso shut them down in the sixth inning to help the Cardinals capture their second state title in two years.
