Sarah and David Batastini and Shane and Kyle Blaskovich, all of Moorestown teamed up to build their own raft for the Annual Riverton Raft Race on the Delaware River. The four kids are teammates on the Riverton Swim Team and part of the sail program at the Riverton Yacht Club.
Part of the annual Riverton Fourth of July festival, participants are asked to build their own homemade rafts to float on Delaware River. Rafts must hold four participants and can only be propelled by human power.
Rafts are judged on speed, creativity, design, and decorations. Of course, the raft that is most designed to cause a spectacle rather than finish in first place in the event wins a prize as well.
