For those riding in the upcoming MS City to Shore Bike Ride (Sept 24 and 25) the group is planning on offering a special group riding skills course on Saturday, August 13. This course is being offered at no charge for those who have registered for the City to Shore event. This is a great program, and it will be held here in Marlton. Mark your calendars and plan to attend this program, it stresses safety and teaches skills you need when you ride with over 7,000 other cyclists.
According to the group, the Team Evesham bike group is sponsored by the Evesham Celebrations Foundation, a non-profit group that was founded in 2008 to celebrate community events in town. ECF hosts the July 4th fireworks, The Mayors Cup 5k, the Green Fest, the Taste of Evesham and Bike Evesham. ECF also feeds senior citizens in the holiday meal program.
The Team Evesham bike group started in 2008 with only 12 members and raised about $14,000 in the MS City to Shore ride. In 2009 the group raised $42,000 in the CTS ride and had 28 riders. In 2010 it 49 active riders and we raised $60,000.
