Local salon hopes to raise funds for Voorhees cancer patient

On Monday, July 18 Moxie Blue Salon will host a “Cuts for Crowley” Event in an effort to raise money for Tom Crowley, a customer who has cancer.

Located in the REI Plaza off of Rt. 73, across from the Promenade Mall, the salon will donate the proceeds from all salon services rendered that day to his cause. People are encouraged to make an appointment, but drop-ins are welcome, too.

The salon hopes to raise thousands of dollars for their longtime friend and client. Crowley is a 46-year old, lifelong Voorhees Township resident who graduated from Eastern High School in 1983. He was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 bile duct cancer, known in medical terms as cholangiocarcinoma.

“When we heard what happened to Tom, our hearts just sank and we felt helpless,” said Danny and Licha McLennan, owners of Moxie Blue Salon. “Then, Tom’s wife told us that because of his career as a landscape company owner (his own business) he did not have medical insurance when diagnosed. The medical bills associated with fighting this horrible disease will be daunting to say the least. We just knew then that we had to do something to help.”

Moxie Blue Salon is a luxury salon and spa that has a talent for making guests feel like family. The owners are married to each other and their three sons also work in the business which naturally flows over to the other employees and clientele they serve. The salon will offer many other ways to make donations to Tom Crowley’s cause throughout the month, including their web page: www.moxiebluesalon.com, Facebook page, and in the salon.

To make an appointment on the July 18th event, or for more information on how you can donate to Tom Crowley’s cause, please call Moxie Blue Salon at 856–985–6255. Drop in donations are welcome, too.
