The top-two singles players for the Haddonfield Bulldog varsity tennis team were both knocked out of the Colonial Conference Tournament Sunday afternoon in the semifinal round.
Paulo Parente of West Deptford High School defeated Luke Grabiak of Haddonfield, 6–2, 6–3 in the semifinal round, coach Jeff Holman reported. James Hicks of Haddon Heights defeated Max Oberholtzer of Haddonfield, 7–5, 7–5 as well.
Oberholtzer and Grabiak had cruised through their previous matches, dispatching each opponent in straight sets before the semifinals.
Parente went on to defeat Hicks 6–2, 6–2 to capture the Colonial Conference championship.
