Black leather jackets don’t just walk away

The following item can be found on file with the Haddonfield Police Department:

• A Washington Avenue resident reported to police on May 12 at 11:53 p.m. that he saw a suspect rummaging through his vehicle and walking away with his black leather jacket. The victim called the police and an officer came to the scene. The victim described one of the suspects as a short male with a shaved head.

Two suspects fitting the victim’s description were stopped several blocks on South Atlantic by another officer. The victim came to the scene and identified one of the suspects as the man he saw looking through his car. An officer found the black leather jacket behind a home on Washington Avenue.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with burglary of movable property and theft. The jacket was valued at $600.
