On Saturday, the entire team raced in the Garden State Championships held at Cooper River. Six Haddonfield boats made the finals.
The men’s novice 4+ finished in second place in the finals. This finish allowed them to qualify for the Nationals which will be held on May 27 and 28 at the Cooper River. Rowing for Haddonfield were Shawn Frates, Chris Eggstein, Tom Kelley, Nick Ruggerio and Alex Siciliano (coxswain).
On Sunday, May 8, varsity and junior varsity rowers raced at the Cooper River for the Cooper Cup. The top finisher for Haddonfield was the women’s junior varsity 8+ ( Taylor Buttaro, Chelsea Wilson, Olivia Bartram, Rachel Berkowitz, Elise Tursi, Alexandra Lincoln, Rachel Rosenthal, Brittany Boyer and Lexi Pollack (coxswain)).
At the same time, the novice and freshmen boats were racing in Philadelphia at the Doctor White Regatta. The team was led by the mens novice 4 made up of Shawn Frates, Chris Eggstein, Tom Kelley, Nick Ruggerio and Alex Siciliano (coxswain) who finished third in the final.
