Say goodbye to the following:

The Borough of Haddonfield sent out a message to residents this week detailing what municipal services will be cut or reduced within the 2011 budget.

Here is what the borough wrote:

Cut in hours of service for the information center: As of April 1, the Haddonfield Information Center will be open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be extended hours during downtown events. The Information Center will be closed July 17 through Aug. 31 and Dec. 25 through Jan. 31.

Elimination in the public works department of all seasonal part-time employees and reduction of use of temporary employees: This will limit staffing of the public works department to eight employees. Two employees will be on recycling each day. Two employees will be assigned to all grass-cutting and grounds maintenance throughout the community. Two employees will be assigned to pickup of vegetative waste each day. The remaining two employees will handle chipping the first week of each month, general repairs throughout the borough and fill in for time off due to vacations and sick leave of other employees.

Leaf collection: Based on the reduction in funding for temporary employees, the borough will not be able to continue to provide leaf collection as it has in the past. Leaves will be collected three times in each trash route. Collection is anticipated to take six weeks. Once we have gone through each route three times, the homeowner will be responsible for disposal.

Vegetative waste pickup: Vegetative waste will be picked up daily from April through October. It will then be picked up the week of Nov. 14 and the week of Nov. 28. Vegetative waste will not be picked up during the month of December.

Elimination of summer recreation program: The recreation director will continue to assist the town sports organizations to run their various sports camps throughout the summer. Any cost paid for these programs is used by the individual sports organizations to offset fees. The tot lot program will be run by the school in 2011 with oversight assistance of the recreation director.

Reduction in arts program at Mabel Kay House: The weekly art day at Mabel Kay will continue, however the instructor will only be provided one half day per month.
