Calling all Voorhees vendors

• Free Cancer and Genetic Screening Seminar on May 17

If you want to know more about cancer and genetic screenings? Come to the Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service and Cooper University Hospital free seminar, Cancer and Genetic Testing, conducted by Dr. Generosa Grana, Director of the Cooper Cancer Institute, and Dana Farengo Clark, Board-Certified Genetic Counselor at the Cooper Cancer Institute. The event will take place on Tuesday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Family Activity Center in the Katz Jewish Community Center at 1301 Springdale Road, Cherry Hill, NJ. • Calling all Vendors for June 5 Community Yard Sale Sale

Jewish Family and Children’s Service will hold a yard sale to support its SAIL Program (Supports to Achieve Independent Living), which offers independent living supports to young adults with special needs. The event is on Sunday, June 5 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cherry Hill High School East parking lot on Kresson Road in Cherry Hill. Anyone interested in renting a space for $15 should call Michaelle Hall at 609–932–6353 or e-mail avonmmh@aol.com. All vendors must pre-register by May 30 to reserve a space. Proceeds from sales can either be a charitable tax deduction to JFCS, or can be retained by the vendor.

• Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service offers a Back to Work Support Group, which meets for ten weeks, beginning May 19 from 7 to 8:30 pm at JFCS, Suite 150, 1301 Springdale and Kresson Road, Cherry Hill. . The group is free and provides practical information on how to network, write resumes, handle interviews, find a job; as well as provides coping skills. • Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service, the Cherry Hill East PTA and Cherry Hill SCOPE present Hang Up and Drive on Monday, May 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Katz Jewish Community Center FamilyActivity Center on Kresson and Springdale Roads, Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The event will feature speaker Jacy Good, who was critically injured and whose parents were killed by a driver who was on his cell phone. Every driver with a cell phone should hear this powerful message. The event is open to the community, but there will be limited seating. Teens and adults are welcome.
