The Voorhees Committee held the public hearing on the 2011 budget to very little fanfare early this weekend, with nobody taking the opportunity to speak against or for the document, Township Administrator Larry Spellman reported.
The document actually contains a $10 decrease for the average Voorhees homeowner.
“There will be no local tax increase,” Mayor Michael Mignogna previously said. “We have worked hard to control spending and continue to provide the high level of municipal services our residents expect and deserve.”
The mayor said the 2011–12 budget decreases the payroll, and noted the success of the increasing shared service programs entered into by the township.
The committee will continue our efforts to generate additional tax revenue,” Mignogna said, “through such projects as the Voorhees Town Center and the Virtua Medical Campus.”
The committee introduced the budget at a meeting in mid-March.
